The Athens-Clarke County Library Foundation
Libraries have never been just about books. They represent a gateway to a better future–not just for the individual, but for us all. Our libraries play a critical role in ensuring that all of the people of Athens-Clarke County have access to both information and inspiration. Your Athens-Clarke County Library Foundation’s mission is to encourage and facilitate private support in order to enhance the near-term innovation and long-term sustainability of your library.

Physical Donations
Donations of books and other materials are accepted at all branch locations. Donated items may be added to the library’s collection, given to local Friends of the Library to be used as fundraisers for the benefit of the library, donated to other non-profit community groups, or recycled. See the Collection Development Policy for details.
To ensure the health and safety of our collection and community, we ask that all donated items be in good, clean condition. We are unable to accept materials with mold, mildew, moisture damage, or signs of pests. To maintain these standards, our staff reserves the right to review and decline donations at the time of drop-off.
For donations of large quantities, please call ahead to the receiving library to schedule staff assistance with drop-off.
