Welcome to the Oglethorpe County LiSCARY!! Come visit us in beautiful, nearby Lexington, GA!! Our address is 858 Athens Rd, Lexington, GA 30648.

Drop by any time during library hours between October 23 and October 31, 2023 to make cool crafts, play some fun games, or check out some of our spookiest books. Plus, you may get a treat from one of our li-scare-ians. Costumes are absolutely encouraged.

IN ADDITION: Other fun events that week include —

• Halloween Story Time — Wednesday, October 25th, 10:30am — Join us at the library for a fun-filled morning of spooktacular books, songs, and a special Halloween treat! Costumes are welcome! A take-home craft kit will be provided. We encourage all toddlers and preschool-aged children to attend. 
• Friday Afternoon Unwind — Pumpkin Edition! — Friday, October 27th, 3pm – 6pm — After a busy day — or week — come hang out and relax at your favorite library! FREE coffee, hot tea, and snacks (that you can — GASP — enjoy in the main library room). So grab a book or your laptop, and take a deep breath — the weekend is here! And so are the pumpkin-flavored treats!
• Library After Dark — Friday, October 27th, 7:00pm — Join us if you dare for scary stories told in the dark! This after hours event is for all ages but will definitely be a bit scarier than our normal events. We will have a snack or two and our own ghost of the library stories to share and if we are lucky we might even catch some paranormal activity……ooooohhhhh spoooooky…..
• Saturday Morning Cartoons Halloween Edition — Saturday, October 28th, 11am – 1pm — Join us Saturday morning for some good ol’ fashion cartoons! All ages welcome. Get comfy with a blanket or pillow and even join us in your jammies if you like! Snacks will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Cartoon shows and episodes may vary. This month we will have some Halloween fun with our cartoons!
• Halloween Movie Night — Monday, October 30th, 4pm — Join us for Halloween Movie Night! We will watch a new release that will be fun for the whole family and everyone is invited…..even our own paranormal friends…… Snacks will be provided but feel free to bring your own and anything you need to get cozy for this viewing of a (new) classic Halloween mystery you may have missed this summer.
• AND FINALLY… Trunk or Treat!!! — Join us here at the Oglethorpe County Library for a drive thru TRUNK OR TREAT! We will be joined by members of the community to set up stations in our parking lot for you to drive thru and receive tons of fun goodies. The Library will be GIVING AWAY FREE BOOKS to each car as well as a special treat. Swing by anytime on Halloween (Tuesday, October 31st) between 3pm and 7 pm!
