The Oconee County Library opening date at our new Wire Park location is March 2nd, 2024! Festivities will kick-off at 10am with light refreshments and an opening ceremony. Take part in our scavenger hunt in the library for a chance to win a grand prize of $400. Throughout the day, we will have performances by Rebecca Sunshine Band, Ziggy’s Comedy Magic Show, Mexican Folk Dance Group “Tonalli”, and Nightshade Family, so come prepared to celebrate the whole day.

When will my books and library materials be due?
All due dates for materials checked out from the Oconee Library before we closed have been updated and the new due date is March 3rd. You are welcome to renew any books that you have renewals left on or you can turn them in to any PINES library. Our bookdrops are currently open and you can return items now. Our bookdrops are located around the back of our new building at Wire Park. We will also be accepting book returns inside once we open.
What is your new address?
Our new address is 1925 Electric Avenue, Watkinsville, GA 30677.
Will you be changing your hours in the new building?
No, we will not be changing our hours when we reopen at Wire Park.

What day are you opening?
Our doors will open for a soft opening on February 29th but our big Grand Opening event will be on March 2nd. After that, we will be open 7 days a week for our normal hours.
Will you have a new phone number?
Yes, we will have a new phone number. Our new phone number is 762-999-1577 and will become available to contact us on February 29th.
What will happen to my holds?
Items on hold that are already available for you at another library will not automatically be sent to the Oconee Library. If your home library was changed to another library while we were closed and you want it changed back to Oconee, please see a library staff member or go online and change it. After we open, items can be put on hold at Oconee Library. You can have a hold sent from another library to the Oconee Library by calling any PINES library where the book is located and requesting they send it to us.
Can I donate books?
We will accept donations for our Friends of the Library starting on March 2nd. If you have a large quantity to donate, please call before bringing donations.
