Join our professionals for an in depth look at hearing and communication at the Athens-Clarke County Library on August 3 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. Kerry Cohen is a clinical doctor of audiology with 20 years of experience. She has extensive experience working with people of all ages, and in a variety of settings including West Point’s Keller Army Community Hospital as well as Boston’s renowned Vernick & Gopal, LLC, an otology practice and Harvard University teaching facility affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Cohen is a member of the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, and a member of the Georgia Academy of Audiology.
Her professional interests include managing tinnitus, promoting hearing conservation from noise exposure and encouraging the use of hearing protection, aural rehabilitation via hearing aids and auditory training, and the link between hearing and cognition. Abbie has been a certified Advanced Professional of the Aging Life Care™ Association since 2013 and is Care Manager Certified through the National Academy of Certified Care Managers. In 2020 she became a Teepa Snow PAC [Positive Approach® to Care] Independent Consultant, focusing on transforming what exists into a more positive dementia care culture.
