On April 1, 2023, the Friends of the Lavonia Library will host its 1st Annual Color Crawl! This color run will split all proceeds 50/50 between the Friends of the Lavonia Library, and the charity group, CDH Stars and Angels. We are hosting this color run in April because it is CDH Awareness month, and we want to help raise funds for families with babies born with CDH, or Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. CDH occurs when there is a hole in the diaphragm, which is the thin sheet of muscle separating the chest from the abdomen. When this gap forms during a fetus’s development in the womb, the bowel, stomach or even the liver can move into the chest cavity.

To be a runner in our color run, it is $30. That goes towards supplies, and also includes your shirt for the race.

To be a sponsor, it is $50 for the Star Sponsor level, or $75 for the Angel Sponsor level.

If you would like to donate virtually, our new library website has a button on the top that says “GIVE.” You can choose which library to donate to, and how much. Just add a note that you’re donating towards the Carnegie Color Crawl. All donations are greatly appreciated!

For this color run, we will start at the Lavonia-Carnegie Library and then run, walk, skip, dance, or crawl to the local VFW, and back to the library. The route is measured at approximately 3.21K.
