The young adult area serves all patrons, but specifically those aged 11-18. The area has book, video, audio and software collections as well as displays, tours and programming suitable for the recreational and informational needs of teenagers.
Reference needs are usually met by the reference area, but YA staff is ready to give teens extra support when needed.
The YA librarian and staff provide free tours and programming to the Athens-Clarke County schools, both private and public, and to civic groups as requested. Adult groups working with teenagers are also assisted as needed. Students and groups from any other counties are served as resources allow.
