Celebrating 30 Years at Our Library

The Oglethorpe County Library granite sign adorns the walkway to the parking lot and is surrounded by colorful spring flowers and greenery. We are celebrating 30 years of being in our library building! Join us on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 for light refreshments, games, and remembrances of the library from friends and fans. On June 25th, 1995 at 2:30 PM, our wonderful library building opened to the public! It was a ten year passion project to bring the County Library, which came into being in 1940, into the modern era with a beautiful 7,300 foot space. Faces and spaces within the library may have changed over the years but the fun and friendly atmosphere remains the same. We invite you all to send us photos of your family enjoying their time here at the library as we look back at the staff, the books, the programs and all the things that have turned this building into the welcoming space that is THE OGLETHORPE COUNTY LIBRARY!
