Play in the Clay

Pre-registration is required.

For ages 12 and up.

Draw on it, roll it, press it, coil it, cut it, and connect it to make a unique clay wall hanging. Come “Play in the Clay” with Sherry MacDonald on January 28 and March 4.

Bring your imagination and creativity to hand build a unique clay relief that can be hung on a wall, fence, or tree. The first lesson offers a review of clay work basics. Students will build their relief on a slat. In the second lesson, students will paint or sponge on glazes. The clay pieces will then be fired for later pick-up.

These programs are fee to the public. Part of the Vibrant Communities Arts Grant, funds are provided by the Friends of the Royston Public Library and by the Georgia Council for the Arts. For more information or to pre-register, call the Royston Public Library at (706)245-6748.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Read Across America with Seuss characters.

Thursday, March 2, 2017, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.

Join us at the Royston Public Library to celebrate NEA's Read Across America. The library will be hosting a special showing of The Lorax from 4:00-5:30 p.m. Each child will receive a “Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss” bookmark. Children will also be entered in a drawing for a free copy of The Lorax, a mini-plush Lorax, or a Dr. Seuss tote bag.
