Story Time: Native American Legends

Celebrate the native peoples of this great land of ours with a collection of legends. Come sing tribal songs, play indigenous games, and create an artifact to take home. Our summer story time series will be promoting early literacy skills such as letter recognition and sight words.

This program is best for ages 2-7.

Free Summer Lunch

Monday to Friday, 12:00 - 12:45 p.m.

In partnership with Athens Housing Authority, we will be providing free hot lunches to children under 18. The program runs Monday through Friday from May 30 to July 14th.

Children must be able to eat alone, without the assistance of parents, etc. Lunches will only be served to children up to 18 years old; adults are not eligible to participate.

Oglethorpe County Library is one of two Summer Food Service Program sites in Oglethorpe County for lunch.

  • Breakfast will be held at the cafeteria in the Oglethorpe County High School.
  • Lunch will also be served at the Oglethorpe County Parks & Rec. Department at 11:30 a.m.
  • Please note that lunch held at the library begins at 12:00 p.m.
