For the safety of our patrons and with a continued effort to “flatten the curve," all Athens Regional Library System branches in Athens-Clarke, Franklin, Madison, Oconee and Oglethorpe counties will remain closed until such time that it is deemed safe to reopen to the public. Library staff remain on the job  serving our communities virtually.  Please feel free to contact us at http://athenslibrary.org/homepage/regional-information/contact-us if you have any questions regarding library service during this time. We will update the community as more information becomes available.

How do I get a book from another library?

Holds may be placed on many titles owned throughout the state of Georgia in the PINES network. Videos, audiocassettes, new books, current bestsellers, software, microforms, CD's, or DVDs may not be placed on hold unless owned by the Athens Regional Library System. There is no fee for placing holds in PINES. Holds can be placed online using PINES or by calling your library.

Interlibrary Loan(ILL) services are available to Athens Regional Library System patrons who wish to obtain library materials which are not in the library's own collections or unavailable through PINES. Fees as charged by the lending institutions will be applied including service fees, insurance, mailing, handling or photocopying charges.
