Does the library have WiFi?

Most libraries in the Regional System provide free wireless Internet access. The libraries which do not have wi-fi are except East Athens Resource Center, Lay Park Resource Center, and Pinewoods Library. In compliance with the federal law(CIPA), all wireless Internet access in the Athens Regional Library System is filtered. You will not be able to adjust the filter settings on your wireless device.

If you are bringing in your own laptop and wish to use our wireless Internet connection, you will need:

  • A wireless network interface card, 802.11b or later
  • To configure your laptop to use a wireless connection (see your laptop manual for instructions on how to do this)
  • A charged battery. There are a limited number of electrical outlets available.
  • Compatible headphones if you plan to use audio files

Please note that Library staff cannot assist you with your laptop, card or configuration. The Library cannot accept the liability of handling your equipment.

If you are accessing wireless from the Athens-Clarke County Library: Please visit our Wireless webpage for more detailed information about connecting to our wi-fi.
