Purpose and Scope

Oconee County Library in Watkinsville, GA is hiring an individual committed to offering the best library service to our community, an individual who doesn't settle for the ways it's been done, but instead looks for ways to excel and improve. We seek an enthusiastic, innovative, and flexible team player who proactively searches for opportunities to make public library services relevant to all residents of Oconee County.

This part-time position works with other Library Assistants to provide front-line services, including materials circulation, to patrons in the library and performs other routine, supportive duties.  This position requires a positive customer service attitude, dependability, tact, knowledge of library policies and procedures, and the ability to work as part of a team.  The ability to start, finish, or pick up work projects at various points, without direct supervision, is vital.  This position reports directly to the Assistant Branch Manager.

Minimum Training and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required, with college degree or college experience preferred.  At least one year experience working with public is required, with library experience preferred. A combination of education, training, and experience that provides requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position may also be considered. Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred.
