Athens Mayoral Debate

The library is proud to present WUGA’s Athens Mayoral Debate, moderated by WUGA News Anchor Alexia Ridley. Mayoral candidates Kelly Girtz, Richie Knight and Harry Sims will answer questions. Email your questions for the candidates in advance to wuga@uga.edu. Join us as part of the live audience, or tune in to WUGA 91.7 or 94.5 FM at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27 or 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, to listen. In Appleton Auditorium.

GALILEO Focus Group volunteers needed!

Are you a GALILEO user? We need your opinion! The library is a host site for a GALILEO focus group on Thursday, April 26 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. GALILEO plans to make some changes this year to make the site more accessible, and this focus group is your chance to give feedback on user experience and the proposed changes. The focus group will be held in the 2nd floor computer classroom. Twelve spots are available on a first come, first served basis. Volunteers will receive free library and GALILEO gifts, including our exclusive Athens Regional Library System mug!

UGA Entomology Club

Tuesday, February 6, 2018, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Multipurpose Room A.

Facilitated by the UGA Entomology Club, teens will be given an opportunity to interact with the insects and arthropods in the hopes of dispelling any misconceptions and to learn about the importance of insects to virtually every ecosystem. The UGA Entomology Club showcases living insects, centipedes, millipedes, scorpions, and spiders, as well as museum specimens from Georgia and other parts of the world, in schools, libraries, organizations, or community centers for interactive display. They aim to educated individuals on some nature’s misjudged critters in a hands-on and exciting manner. This program is only available for teens in grades 6-12.
