Live @ ACL Library: Kate Morrissey Band

Live @ Athens-Clarke County Library: Kate Morrissey Band, February 2, 2020 kate singing

ATHENS, Ga. — The Friends of Athens-Clarke County Library present a free concert by the Kate Morrissey Band at Athens-Clarke County Library on Sunday, Feb. 2, at 3:00 p.m.

Morrissey is a wandering songstress. From her childhood on the rolling hills of rural South Dakota through Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and now among the Southern bohemia of Athens, she is perfectly at home behind her piano. But Morrissey is best known throughout this corridor for her dark velvet voice whose range and control stands on its own. Morrissey’s songwriting is literate and sincere, and her conversational live shows come punctuated with an off-beat sense of humor. In her more than two decades of playing shows throughout the country, she has learned to cultivate a joyful atmosphere wherever she plays.

Morrissey will be joined by John Norris on drums and Roger Stahl on cello and acoustic guitar.

The event is free and open to the public and is the latest installment of the Live! @ the Library concert series sponsored by the Friends of the Athens-Clarke County Library. For more information, call (706) 613-3650. The Athens-Clarke County Library is located at 2025 Baxter Street, Athens.
