bilingual storytime¡Bienvenido! Join us for this special program of Spanish/English language fun! Share books, songs, rhymes and activities en español y ingles on the first Friday of every month. For children ages 3-8 and their caregiver on Friday, January 3rd, 2020 at 4:00 pm. In Storyroom.

“Mañana, we fly again!” Jump on your motorcycle and spend the morning at the library with your dad or male caregiver (moms are welcome too) for this special Storyime graphicbilingual storytime on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 am. Listen to Isabel Quintero’s story of sharing a magical ride with her papi on his motocicleta, sample Mexican pastries, design your own helmet and motorcycle crafts to go. Get ready for a TRAIN-TASTIC week in the Children’s Department! Join us for special train-themed storytimes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday, as we share books and songs all about trains!  See Dr. Maurice Snook’s amazing model railroad trains in action at the end of each storytime, and one last running of the trains on Sunday afternoon. For children ages 2-8 and their caregiver. In Storyroom.

winter storytimeThe Athens-Clarke County Library storytimes are on vacation from Friday, December 20, 2019 through Friday, January 3, 2020! We will kickoff the return of storytimes on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 am for our Dad and Me Storytime: My Papi Has a Motorcycle with Mr. Evan. Happy Holidays!

elf trainingHave you ever wanted to know what goes on in Santa’s workshop? Christmas is around the corner, and Santa is looking for a few new elves to help him prep for the big day! Our certified Elf-Training Workshop will get you into tip-top shape. Join us at our Elf Training event on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 3:30 pm  to make your own elf hat, ornaments, wrapping paper and more. Enjoy holiday treats and sing in our Elfin Choir. Children will graduate from the program with a certificate given out by Santa himself! In Children’s Area. For children ages 3 -11 and their caregiver.

Unleash your creativity and make your own special ornaments at our Christmas Ornament Workshop on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 am. hanukkah We are celebrating the season of lights and want you to join us! Hanukkah is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to share an afternoon of stories, crafts and food.
